Ever since we've been married, Rachel and I have either traveled to one of our parents' house for Christmas, or hosted at our place. This year we tried something new and spent Christmas in a cabin in the Catskills with Rachel's family.
We stayed at Black Bear Ridge in Fleischmann's. The cabin perfectly checks my first and second criteria when looking for a place to escape the city for a few days: a big fireplace, and room for Kaira to run off leash. It was a three hour drive for us coming from Brooklyn, and five hours for them coming from Buffalo.
We're thankful for the opportunity to get out of the city, to spend some time in quiet nature, and to celebrate Christmas with family. Especially this year.
